The group's principal activity is to develop, manufacture and market industrial microbiology and related biotechnology products. Astaxin(R) is the main product of the group. Astaxin is a natural source of astaxanthin, a pigment which imparts the characteristic red color to the flesh of salmon, trout, prawns and certain other kind of fish and shellfish. The group's products are value added specialty biochemical products derived from abundant, inexpensive and renewable agricultural residues and wastes through fermentation, physical and chemical separation and related chemical and biochemical engineering technologies.
